Wautoma/Wild Rose sophomore MacKenzie Caves led the girls varsity team crossing the finish line in 21:21.72 while competing at the South Central Conference Championships at Lake Lucerne Camp and Retreat Center in Neshkoro on Oct. 14. Caves took 11th place overall to earn 2nd Team All-Conference honors.

Wautoma/Wild Rose Girls Cross Country takes third at SCC Championships

Caves and Julian receive 2nd Team All-Conference

The Wautoma/Wild Rose girls cross country team took home third place at the South Central Conference Championships on Oct. 14 at Lake Lucerne Camp and Retreat Center in Neshkoro.

Wisconsin Dells won the team title with 19 points, followed by Mauston, 40; Wautoma/Wild Rose, 83; Westfield/Montello, 101; Adams-Friendship, 128; and Nekoosa, 186.

Leading Wautoma/Wild Rose were MacKenzie Caves who finished with a time of 21:2172 for 11th place, and Kiana Julian who finished with a time of 22:10.62 for 13th place. Both Caves and Julian were earned All-Conference 2nd Team honors for their times.

Following Caves and Julian were: Lyndsey Lippert, 16th; Carley Burt 21st; Bailey Rheinheimer 23rd; Amber Babcock 28th; Quaye Taivalmaa 30th; and Rachael Strey 35th.
