Seven Wautoma/Wild Rose wrestlers took 1st or 2nd place in their weight divisions during the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 2 Regional in Lodi to advance to the Individual Sectional at Richland Center this Saturday, Feb. 17. Warriors win 2nd place at Lodi Division 2 Regional

The Wautoma/Wild Rose wrestling team finished in 2nd place at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 2 Regional on Feb. 10 in Lodi with 223.5 points.

For the Warriors, seven wrestlers the qualified for individual sectional competition by taking first or second in their weight class. Heading home Regional Champions were: Abram Lezama, 106 lbs.; Dylan Hughes, 113 lbs.; Tanner Deist, 132 lbs.; Dillon Martin, 170 lbs.; Lucas Hackney, 195 lbs.; and Damean Netzler, 285 lbs.

Lodi (LODI) outscored the Warriors with 261.0; points to advance to the team sectional. Following Wautoma/Wild Rose were: Wisconsin Dells (WD), 215.0; Columbus (COL), 99.0; Poynette (POY), 62.0; Cambria-Friesland/Pardeeville/Randolph/Rio, (CFPR), 40.

At 182 lbs., Andrew Henschel also advanced to the individual sectional by taking second place at the regional in Lodi.

The seven Wautoma/Wild Rose Warriors will compete at the individual sectional on Saturday, Feb. 17, at Richland Center.
