Four seniors finish undefeated at 11-team invite

The Wautoma/Wild Rose Warriors wrestling team came home from Omro with a second place finish on Jan. 6. With help from four wrestlers finishing undefeated in their weight classes, as well as one second place finisher and two taking third place, the Warriors were only outscored by one team at the 11-team invitational.

Kewaunee (KEW) took home the top prize with 211.5 points, followed by the Warriors (WWR) with 180.5; Berlin (BER), 152.0; Chilton (CHI), 151.0; Omro (OMR), 120.5; Freedom (FRE), 115.0; Kiel (KIE), 111.0; Winnebago Lutheran Academy (WLA), 68.5; Oakfield (OAK), 50.5; Hustisford (HUS), 7.0; and Necedah (NEC), 6.0.

The four seniors who took first place for the Warriors in their weight class with an impressive undefeated invitational were: Tanner Deist, 138 lbs.; Dillon Martin, 170 lbs., Andrew Henschel, 182 lbs., and Lucas Hackney, 285 lbs.

Securing second place as 132 lbs. was Jacob Gaboury-Gorges, and finishing in third for Wautoma/Wild Rose were Dylan Hughes, 113 lbs.; Damean Netzler, 220 lbs.
