Ladycats claw out a win against Bowler

The Wild Rose Ladycats ended up playing a tough game during the Jan. 30 girls’ basketball matchup with the Bowler Lady Panthers. The Ladycats were able to come out on top, defeating the Lady Panthers 54-47.

“What an intense, incredible game!” exclaimed Wild Rose Head Coach Bruce Williams. “After playing what was probably the most complete half of basketball in the first half, we had to scratch, fight, and claw the best 16 minutes of the game to come out with a win. I told the girls in the locker room that I’ve never been prouder of any team than I was of them tonight, and I meant every word of it.”

“The keys to the game were the effort on the defensive end. (Bre) Marchan’s offensive explosion and the willingness of (Johanna) Shepard, the whole team for that matter, gutting it out after some tough injuries. It’s always nice when you shoot 15 of 18 from the free throw line. After a lot of close losses this season, it’s a great feeling for all the girls to win this one. It was just an outstanding high school basketball game,” Williams added.
