Hornets defeat Berlin on the road

The Wautoma girls basketball team traveled to Berlin on Nov. 21 to take on the Indians in a non-conference matchup.

Even though the Hornets fell behind in the first half heading into the locker room with a 12-18 deficit, they came back outscoring their hosts 33-14 in the second to take home the 45-32 win.

“We played very solid on defense,” said Head Coach Tim Solarek. “The girls battled and worked hard the whole game.”

Leading for Wautoma was seniors Tori Gonzalez and Alyssa Borchardt each scoring 12 points, followed by: Kiara Wedell, 11 points, 16 rebounds; Maddy Weisensell 6 points; and Madison Haumschild, 4 points.
