First individual wrestling championship in program history

Almond-Bancroft High School junior Cole Warzynski traveled to the University of Wisconsin -Madison to compete in his first Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) Individual State Wrestling Tournament.

Warzynski went into the tournament with a 44-3 record and after a tough fight, ended with a 47-3 record and went home with the WIAA Division 3 Individual State Championship in the 285 lbs. weight division.

Not only did Warzynski end his season with the state championship, he also made history at Almond-Bancroft schools as the first wrestler in the wrestling program’s history to win an individual state championship.

Wrestling since he was in third grade, Warzynski has always dreamed of making it to the state championship. With the support of his family, coaches, teammates and community, Warzynski has accomplished his dream.
