Amber Baehman signs with the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point

Tri-County High School senior Amber Baehman officially signed with University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point to play basketball during a ceremony on Nov. 9. Baehman led the Penguins in each of her first three seasons on the varsity team, tallying her 1,000th career point during her junior year. She has been playing basketball since 4th grade.

Baehman received offers from multiple colleges throughout the nation, some of which included: William Penn University - NCAA Division I - Oskaloosa, IA; Carroll University - NCAA Division III - Waukesha, WI; Iowa Lakes Community College - NJCAA - Estherville, IA; Knox College - NCAA Division III - Galesburg, IL; Lakeland University - NCAA Division III - Plymouth, WI; and Lawrence University - NCAA Division III - Appleton, WI.

When asked why she chose to attend the Division III UWSP over the other universities, Baehman said, “Because they have a great coaching system and they treat their players like family, that’s very important to me.” She added, “It’s a winning program and win or lose, they are always positive at the end. They never give up.”
