Registration now open for Fall Hunter Education in Wautoma

The Wautoma Area Hunter Education instructors still have open openings for the next Hunter Education course beginning on Sept. 5 at the Wautoma Rod & Gun Club, East Chicago Road, in Wautoma.

To purchase a hunting license in Wisconsin, anyone born on or after January 1, 1973 must have completed a hunter education course. The course consists of five sessions, with courses materials for the class distributed to registered students at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

The first class will follow the registration activities, while the remaining classes are scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 12, Thursday, Sept. 14, Friday, Sept. 15, and Saturday, Sept. 16. Complete attendance is a requirement, and there is a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources course fee that will be collected on Sept. 5. All students under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at registration.

To pre-register for the class, visit www.gowild.wi.gov, select the ‘Education’ tab/Everyone/Safety classes.

Classes are of limited size, so pre-registration is required. Students lacking Internet access can also pre-register by calling Keith Kasubaski at (920) 787-7423 stricly from 5 to 9 p.m.
