Plover 12U win National Championship at Eau Claire

The 12U Plover Nationals fastpitch team finished their season winning the 2017 ASA 12U B Northern National Championship on Aug. 6. Plover remained undefeated throughout the tournament held Aug. 3-6 in Eau Claire, defeating Goodview Sandlot from Goodview MN, 6-5; LCAFA from Lake Crystal, MN, 8-0; Rockers from Tinely Park, IL, 4-0; Point Fastpitch Gold, Stevens Point, 3-2; Stateline Fury from Machesney Park, IL, 13-5; before moving on to the championship game against Stateline Fury. After officials felt the field was unsafe for playing conditions due to flooding, Plover was named the Northern National Champions as they were the only undefeated team and had beat Stateline in head-to-head competition. Plover 12U finished the season with a record of 33-7, winning five championships, including Northern Nationals, and one runner up finish out of the seven tournaments the girls played.
