Department of Aging to offer Powerful Tools for Caregivers this spring

Waushara County Department of Aging will once again be sponsoring the educational series, Powerful Tools for Caregivers, this spring.

The workshop is designed to provide information and support to family members or other informal caregivers on how to care for one self while providing care for a loved one. As a participant of Powerful Tools for Caregivers, you will learn how to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate your feelings, balance your life, increase your ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources.

This evidence-based program was adapted from a model from Stanford University, and has been tested and proven successful.

Classes consist of six, 2-½ hour sessions held once a week. Two experienced leaders facilitate interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming, which will help you take the tools you choose and put them into action for your life.

The classes will be held Thursdays beginning March 2 through April 6, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in the conference room on the lower level of the Waushara County Courthouse, located at 209 S. Saint Marie St., Wautoma.
