Wautoma’s McComb/Bruchs PAC announces 2017-2018 Season
The McComb/Bruchs Performing Arts Center in Wautoma is excited to announce their star-stunning 2017-2018 Season with eight national and international touring acts in their main stage series along with educational outreach and programming for area schools. The season offers a wide variety of entertainment for almost every taste and interest. Special box office hours are scheduled for June 5th and 6th from 10 AM to 2 PM for those who would like to purchase their Season Tickets, “Four or More” Packages, and individual show tickets.
The season will launch on Saturday, September 30th with the 70’s rock group, Firefall at 7:00 PM. For founder Jock Bartley, Firefall is a 40 year labor of love. Their layered harmonies backed by driving rhythms transcends many genres from rock to country to AC and brought the band platinum and gold success with such hits as “You Are The Woman,” “Strange Way,” “Just Remember I Love You.” Other major Firefall radio hits include “Cinderella,” “Goodbye I Love You,” “Livin’ Ain’t Livin” and “Mexico.” Patrons can enjoy dinner at Silvercryst Supper Club with the purchase of a dinner ticket. AJ Croce, son of the late Jim Croce, will present “CROCE: Two Generations of American Music” on Saturday October 14th at 7:00 PM. “CROCE: Two Generations of American Music,” features a complete set of classics by his father Jim Croce, some of his own tunes, and songs that influenced both him and his father. The show often includes such timeless songs as “Operator,” “You Don’t Mess Around with Jim,” “Workin’ At the Car Wash Blues,” “Rapid Boy (The Stock Car Boy),” “One Less Set of Footsteps,” “Lovers Cross,” and “Box #10,” to name a few. Join us on Saturday November 11th at 7:00 PM for Rave On! - The Buddy Holly Experience. Rave On! - The Buddy Holly Experience re-invents the ordinary tribute show with an electrifying, high-energy, rock n’ roll extravaganza featuring a dead-ringer, Billy McGuigan, for the legendary rocker. Backed by the rockin’ Rave On Band, their incredible musicianship helps ignite the stage and breathe new life into the music of Buddy Holly. In this rock and roll tour-de-force, audiences will experience all the thrills of a Buddy Holly concert re-imagined which includes such hits as “Peggy Sue,” “Raining in My Heart,” “It’s So Easy,” “That’ll Be the Day,” “True Love Ways,” “Oh Boy” and of course, “Rave On.” But, that’s only part of it! In a unique twist, the band celebrates the birth of an era and pays homage to his fellow rockers Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper. - by popular demand, Jim Curry will present his holiday show, “A Rocky Mountain Christmas” on Saturday December 9th at 7:00 pm. A family holiday tradition comes to life in "A Rocky Mountain Christmas" as Jim Curry performs the music from John Denver's many Christmas Television specials and Christmas Music collections. Memorable melodies that speak to the heart of the holidays will include numbers like “Silver Bells,” “Silent Night,” and “O Holy Night,” along with John’s own “Christmas for Cowboys,” “Noel, Christmas Eve,” “Aspenglow,” and “The Peace Carol.” In Addition, Curry and the band will present many of John’s all-time hits like “Rocky Mountain High,” “Sunshine On My Shoulders,” and “ Home Again,” to name a few. A dinner package with Living Stone Bistro is available for purchase. The Waushara Area Chamber of Commerce will also be hosting a “Christmas Treats Reception” after the show. Pioneer Floral & Greenhouse, Ole & Lena’s Fuel Depot and Wautoma Rotary Club will be sponsoring Terry Barber, a world-renowned countertenor, on Saturday, February 10th, 2018 at 2:00 PM. A classically-trained countertenor with an extreme range, and versatile voice, Terry is equally at home in the concert hall, recording studio, theatre, and opera house. He has been a soloist for Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall, London’s Queen Elizabeth Hall, and Moscow’s Svetlanov Hall, to name a few. Terry was a member of the Grammy-winning Chanticleer. Program includes works, “Maria” from West Side Story, “Ave Maria,” “Shenandoah,” and many others. A Living Stone Bistro Brunch package is available for purchase as well. Mr. Barber will also be conducting educational workshops the day before with Wautoma, Wild Rose and Tri-County students. Friday, March 16th, 2018 at 7:00 PM, the Boston based a cappella group, Ball in the House, will be performing on the PAC stage. Following in the path of classic harmony groups like Boyz II Men, The Temptations, and Take 6, while incorporating the pop and neo-soul influence of artists like Bruno Mars, Daft Punk, and Pharrell Williams, five member veteran vocal band, Ball in the House, will move audiences and make audiences move. The Wautoma High School Choir will join them onstage during their Friday night performance. The show is presented by ACE Hardware, Cell.Plus - US Cellular Agent, Culvers Restaurant, Heid Music, Silvercryst Supper Club and Weiss Heating & Cooling. Special dinner packages in cooperation with Silvercryst Supper Club and Living Stone Bistro will be an option for patrons before the concert.

Come on out to the PAC on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 at 7:00 PM for the Chicago based comedy troupe, The Second City, present their show “The Best of Second City.” This must-see show features the best sketches and songs from The Second City’s 55-year history made famous by superstars like Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Gilda Radner, Bill Murray and more — as well as their trademark improvisation. Fresh, fast and always spectacularly funny, The Second City is celebrating 55 years of producing cutting-edge satirical revues and launching the careers of generation after generation of comedy’s best and brightest. Join us for a great night of music by The Cowsills on Saturday, May 12th, 2018 at 7:00 PM, to end our 2017-18 season. The real-life inspiration behind the hit television series The Partridge Family, the Cowsills - teen siblings Bill, Bob, Barry, John, Susan, and Paul in tandem with mom Barbara - were one of the biggest pop acts of the late ’60s, Distinguished by their angelic harmonies and sun kissed melodies, siblings Bob, Paul and Susan carry on the touring tradition of The Cowsills as one of the co-headline bands in the 2015 and 2016 hugely successful Happy Together Tour! Hits: “The Rain, The Park & Other Things,” “Indian Lake,” and “Hair.” A Living Stone Bistro dinner package will be available before the show. In addition to the regular season programs, the McComb/Bruchs Performing Arts Center will also be offering a series of School Programming performances which will bring national touring companies to Wautoma for performances of The Wright Stuff – The First in Flight in October and Dr. Seuss’s The Cat in the Hat in April. Over 2000 students from 8-10 area school districts will have an opportunity to enjoy the curriculum related performances.
2017-2018 programming will conclude with a summer Children’s Theatre offering in June of 2018 to be announced at a later date. The production, in cooperation with Prairie Fire Theatre, will feature over 50 area youth.
Special season ticket rates are available through September 30th, 2017. Patrons can purchase reserved seats for all eight main stage shows for only $220.80, a savings of $55.20, or create their own custom package of any “Four or More” shows and receive a 10% discount.
