Black Hawk Folk Society Music Festival July 11

The Black Hawk Folk Society invites music lovers to its 28th annual folk music festival, from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 11. The venue is changed this year to Mountain View Community Center, N3137 21st Lane, between Wautoma and Mt Morris on Highway 152.

The day will kick off at 10:30 a.m. with an open mic. Bill Kehl, local song-writer and musician, will be back by popular demand to emcee and perform between the acts which include Steve Hazell, Ariane Lydon, The Dang-Its, Katie Dahl, Cris and Ann Plata, and Singleton Street. This solid line-up includes something for everyone—bluegrass, country, swing, Tex-Mex, Americana, and folk.

In addition to a solid seven hours plus of music, this family friendly festival features an arts and crafts fair, and concessions by the Mt. Morris Pioneers 4-H Club.  Festival participants are also invited to bring lawn chairs, sunscreen, and insect repellant.  No pets are allowed on the festival grounds.

Tickets may be purchased at the gate. To sign up for the open mic, register as a vendor for the arts and crafts fair. For other information, visit www.blackhawkfolk.org, or call 920-295-2030.

The Black Hawk Folk Society is a non-profit 501(c)3 volunteer-driven organization, dedicated to providing live music to a central Wisconsin audience.
