Wild Rose Board approves sewer plant upgrade

The Wild Rose Village Board approved plans for a sewer plant upgrade during their regular meeting on Oct. 4.

Upgrading the sewer plant is a statewide standard, and derating the daily flow limits while staying within Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource regulations is obtainable. Board Trustee Jody Jansen stated there is a grant is available this type of project, which can reduce the costs from 30 to 45 percent, but several variables are considered.

In other business, the board was informed about more information being acquired on the possible improvement of Roberts Park. Matching funds may be available for upgrading the playground equipment. Trustee Jansen will contact the area organizations to see if they would be willing to contribute to the project.

Information was passed on about the dam repair project being almost done, but some smaller items surrounding the project are still in need of completion. Pictures of those items have been taken and were documented, with General Engineering being aware of the work needing to be completed. After some discussion, the board approved payments for Applications #4 and #5 to Janke General Contractors with General Engineering withholding funds from each payment until the documented items are taken care of satisfactorily.
