Redgranite Village Clerk retires, board approves two hires

At the regular Redgranite Village Board meeting on April 21 at the Redgranite Village Hall, the board thanked the retiring  Donna Berube, clerk/treasurer, for her 20-plus years of service and approved the hiring of Christy Groskreutz as clerk/treasurer and Annette Duke as deputy clerk/treasurer.  Groskruetz was hired full time at a salary of $32,000 per year plus benefits.  Duke will work 25-29 hours per week at $11 per hour and receive no benefits.

Karen Piechowski spoke to the board on behalf of the Redgranite Women’s Club’s 50th Anniversary.  She reported that the club had dissolved on April 9 and had funds left in its treasury and would like to use the funds to put a bench on the west side of the downtown park.  Piechowski showed photos of the bench to the board and also asked for assistance with a concrete platform to put the bench on.  Jerry Sieg, president of the board, said that he believed the Redgranite Lions would assist with the project.

President Sieg reported that two new No Littering signs were ordered for County Trunk EE.    The board also approved all committee assignments would remain the same as in the past.  He also appointed Rob Wilcox to represent the village board at the 2015 Wautoma High School graduation.
