Coloma Board declares Operating Engineers Local 139 Day
The Coloma Village Board declared Saturday, July 25 as Opearting Engineers Local 139 Day during their regular meeting held June 25 at 6:30 p.m.
The Operating Engineer School have been in Coloma Township since 1976. It is a 360 acre training center and have recently completed a new training facility.
The school also has assisted the village on numerous occasions with building projects, and generates a large amount of revenue during the winter for the local village and townships. The engineering school will have over 9,000 members attending a dedication and celebration at the facility on July 25.
The board made a final decision on the Gov/Pay/Net debit/credit card payment system. The system will allow residents to pay their water bills with credit card either at the clerks office or online. The board made the decision to go with the system which will be at no cost to the village and a minimal use cost to the consumer.
