Coloma Board approves street closings for Fall Fest

The Coloma Village Board approved business association member Vicky Adam’s request to close 1st street from Hwy 21 to Westfield Road for the Fall Fest on Saturday, Oct. 3 during their regular meeting held Aug. 27 at the Coloma Community Center. 

During Adam’s presentation, she said a new addition to this year’s event will be a backyard barbeque rib cook off, with entries for the contest need to be in by Sept. 26. The Fall Fest will also include a 5K run as well as crafts, food and other vendors.  

Board president Arden Bandt announced that the Tri-County Regional planning commission will be holding their 10th anniversary meeting at the Green Lake Community Center and invited the board to attend the event.  

Charter has announced that it will have an upgrade to its system that will be available in Coloma on Sept. 15. This upgrade includes higher grade high speed internet.

Tom Congdon discussed fire department funding having recently attended a joint meeting between the fire board and the fire district.  He is looking for an intergovernmental agreement between the village and township for funding of the fire department.
