Coloma Board approved liquor licenses for Mecan River Brewing Company

The Coloma Village Board approved Class B and Class C liquor licenses and the LLC agent appointment for the new business, Mecan River Brewing Company, located at 113 E. Main Street, owned by William Moll, during their regular meeting on Oct. 26.

During the meeting, Moll was approved to be the LLC Agent, since an LLC cannot hold a liquor license, with the Brewery planning to sell other company’s craft beers until their own brew is ready. Following the approval by the board, the Mecan River Brewing Company is allowed to sell beer and wine, along with bar food to patrons. During the discussion, the board expressed positive comments on how the new business will benefit the area.

Prior to the liquor license and LLC agent approval, there was a first reading of an Ordinance 17-02, before the board, which updates the code of Ordinance of the Village. The ordinance will be reviewed by committee and voted at the November meeting.

A new copy machine for the village office was approved, to be delivered at the expiration of the current lease in April of 2018. The cost was about $4 more than the present lease price, and the motion was unanimously approved.
