Parkside Book Drive to be held Feb. 19-March 2

The 8th annual Parkside Middle School Book Drive will begin on Monday, Feb. 19, and will be held through Friday, March 2. The books donated will be given to the students most in need of books at their reading level during the Book Celebration on March 9.

Parkside teachers Rebecca Umbreit, Alison Kintigh and Aleesha Whalen along with along with Library Media Specialist Brionne Roberts-Bray are coordinating this year’s donation in order to provide students with books for the summer they are interested in reading.

On average, 100 students in 4th through 8th grade are selected each year to participate in the Book Celebration and hundreds of additional books geared toward younger reading levels are shared with Riverview and Redgranite Elementary Schools.

Community members as well as students are encouraged to drop off books to Parkside Middle School in an effort to clean out bookshelves and help spread the love of reading.

Those interested in donating can drop off books at Parkside Middle School, 300 South 16th Avenue, Wautoma, or the Waushara Argus, W7781 State Road 21 &73, Wautoma.
