A+ After School Girl Power visits local food pantry

The A+ After School Program’s Girl Power class visited the Waushara Food Pantry before Thanksgiving to learn about the Food Pantry and volunteering. During their visit, the girls were given a tour by Marty Lee and helped pack boxes of food. The Girl Power class, taught by University of Wisconsin-Extension Family Living Educator Mary Ann Schilling, is a six-session program for girls in 4th and 5th grade, which helps to promote self-esteem and motivation; develop life skills; healthy coping skills; decision-making skills; inspire girls to further their education; and prevent risky behaviors.
