Pine River Library celebrates 55th anniversary

On April 18, the Pine River Library of Leon and Saxeville celebrated their 55th Anniversary. Stories and photo albums were shared on how the library was created and how far we have come. As a 4-H project, local resident Darlene Hempel took a little red wagon around to collect books to get the library started in 1960. Pictured are: (back row): Linda Forseth, first official director and still active at the library; Collette Ross, current director; and Vikki Witt; (front row): Mary Malnory, Karen West, and Darlene Hempel.
