Wild Rose Over 50 Club sets reunion for June 23

It’s that time of year to be discussing and planning reunions to take place during the summer. The Wild Rose Over 50 Club’s Planning Committee did just that, meeting on April 6 at the Wild Rose Village Hall.

The day for this year’s reunion will be held on Saturday, June 23, at the Wild Rose Elementary School, with the Classes of 1938, 1948, 1958 and 1968 being honored.

It was brought up that the Club’s Constitution has to be changed regarding the date the reunions are held on. Instead of stating that the gatherings are held the final Saturday in the month of June, the statement will read that the reunions will be held the fourth Saturday of June. There are occasions such as this year and next year that there will be a fifth Saturday in June. In order to avoid any confusion or extra conflicts, it will be safer to just state the reunions are held the fourth Saturday.

Another change to the Constitution will be that the Planning Committee meetings will be held at 1 p.m. instead of 1:30 p.m. The secretary and treasurer’s reports were also approved and accepted.

The scholarship report was given by John Attoe who mentioned that three recipients of the 2017 scholarships are doing well in their respective post-high school educational institutions. Attoe informed the committee about the possibility of becoming non-profit for future purposes. He also said that the Wild Rose School District is now going with a universal scholarship application so applicants only have to fill out one form to be considered for multiple scholarships instead of having to fill out multiple applications.
