Wild Rose Kiwanis offers trips to Broadway musicals

Wild Rose Kiwanis Club enjoys facilitating cultural opportunities for everyone in Waushara County. Un-derstanding that attending a Broadway Musical is not so easy when spectators have to drive a distance, navigate city traffic and complete for a parking space with other attendees, the Wild Rose Kiwanis is offering bus trips to “An American in Paris” at Fox Valley Performing Arts Center or “Les Misérables” at Overture Center in Madison.

On Saturday, Feb. 24, attendees will be mesmerized by a private Barlow Plan-etarium display of space craft images depicting planets and deep-sky objects. After lunch on their own the group will attend the new Broadway musical, “An American in Paris”, at Fox Valley Performing Arts Center.

Attendees will learn the story of an American soldier who falls in love with a Paris Ballerina after World War II, based on the 1952 movie with Gene Kelly featuring music written by the Gershwins.

On Sunday, April 8, en route the show, attendees will stop by the Olbrich Tropical Garden Conservatory. This glass pyramid is filled with exotic plants, bright flowers, a rushing waterfall, fragrant orchids and free-flying birds.  Then it is off to “Les Misérables”, one of the most celebrated musicals in theatrical history.
