Wautoma Kiwanis keeps busy with summer projects
This summer the Wautoma Kiwanis Club has been busy with many different projects. In May, the club took on a new project working the concession stand for the annual Beef Show in Wautoma plus the first brat fry of the season during the Memorial Day weekend. Next the club had a busy 4th of July weekend, with a second brat fry on July 3.
On July 4th they took part in the Wautoma 4th of July Parade and worked the Wautoma’s Freedom Fest’s beer stand. Riding on the Wautoma Kiwanis Club float on July 4th were veteran club members Carl Grisar and John Hassmann in their military univorms with kids riding on the float and kids walking passing out candy and dog treats. The kids included: Cami Culver, Ben Berger, Aeris Kellerman, Jamie Kubasta, Averee Kubasta, Samantha Torrito, MacKenzie Koats, Kaylie Roder, Koreena Roder, Alondra Lazama, Isai Lazama and Joshua Wakeley.
On July 9, the club got together for the annual summer picnic with a pig roast at Pete and Mary Braatz’s home.
In August they manned a concession stand at the annual Wautoma Augustfest held on Aug. 8. To finish out their summer projects the Wautoma Kiwanis Club worked at the beer stand at the Waushara County Fair Aug. 13 thru 16.
