Thousand-Miler author to speak at Ice Age Trail Meeting this Saturday
The Waushara County Ice Age Trail Alliance will offer a special presentation by Melanie Radzicki McManus, author of the memoir, “Thousand-Miler: Adventures Hiking the Ice Age Trail”, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, at the World War II Memorial Building in Wautoma.
McManus, who specializes in active travel and has won numerous awards for her writing, will take audience members on her inspiring record-setting trek along the 1,100-mile Ice Age National Scenic Trail. She will also share more about the Ice Age Trail, one of just 11 National Scenic Trails nationwide, its development, and about the various successful strategies over thousand-milers have used in their hikes.
A book signing will follow McManus’s presentation as well as the annual chapter meeting and election of officers from 2 to 4 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
