Sheriff Nett speaks to Wautoma Kiwanis

On March 8, Waushara County Sheriff Jeff Nett spoke to the Wautoma Kiwanis Club during their Thursday morning breakfast meeting at Culvers. Nett, a fellow Kiwanis member, provided a presentation on his 2017 Annual Report. Some of the highlights were, he has 55 full time employees and four part-time court security employees under him. The Sheriff’s Department has five holding cells in the booking area and it takes on average 45 minutes to book someone into the jail. The Waushara County Jail can hold a maximum of 132 inmates, and the dispatchers have six computer screens to monitor all having a difference purpose. In 2017, the Sheriff’s Department had 6,137 calls to 911 coming into the dispatchers, and a total of 1,366 inmates were booked into the system.
