Sheriff Jeff Nett to speak to Waushara HCE on March 22

Waushara County is dealing with a heroin problem just like every other county in Wisconsin. In order to learn more about this growing problem within the area, the Waushara County HCE Club is holding an informational program given by Sherriff Jeff Nett and his department in the Demonstration Room of the Waushara County Courthouse at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 22.

The Heroin problem is not victimless, with people in Waushara County dying due to heroin overdosing. Many of these overdoses are due to heroin is being mixed with Fentanyl.

Last year, more people died from drug overdoses than in traffic crashes in Waushara county.

The Waushara County Sheriff’s Office is busy with drug investigations, and are finding a majority of the drugs in the county are coming out of the Milwaukee area.

If you are interested in attending the informational session, call the University of Wisconsin-Extension Office at (920) 787-0416 to register in case of cancellation due to weather.
