Pine Tree Needlers host quilt show at Augustfest
The Pine Tree Needlers Quilt Guild, of Mt Morris, presented their Augustfest Quilt Show at the World War II Memorial Building in Wautoma, on Aug. 8. The Rural Rembrandt Art Guild joined the quilters in putting on a display.
Viewers had an opportunity to judge the quilt guild show entries. The following were ribbon winners:
•Hand quilted: 1st place Char Heger; 2nd place Susan Knaack.
•Domestic Machine quil-ted: 1st and 2nd place Pam Peirce; 3rd place Susan Miszewski.
•Longarm Machine quil-ted: 1st place Char Heger; 2nd place Rosie Butzen; 3rd place Claudette Fritz.
•4-H Members: 1st and 2nd place Amber Babcock.
•Baby quilts: 1st place Susan Miszewski; 2nd and 3rd place Delores Reilly.
•Accessories: 1st place Susan Knaack; 2nd place Virgene Pemble; 3rd place Suzie Giesen.
•Wall Hangings: 1st place Susan Knaack; 2nd place Caryl Brix; 3rd place Nancy Kress.
•Pine Tree Needlers projects: 1st place Karen Pica; 2nd place Ginney Kolter; 3rd place Pam Peirce
This year’s the special children’s feature was to “make a fish”. The children’s fish will be made into a crib quilt. In the spring the quilt will be displayed in the Wautoma Public Library and at next year’s quilt show.
Pine Tree Needlers also had a boutique where members sold items they had made throughout the year. The PTN members are already making plans for next year’s show, and meet the fourth Wednesday of every month at 9 a.m. at the Mountain View Community Center in Mt. Morris.
