On June 30, Marty Hillert (left) will be retiring after serving nearly 20 years as CEO of Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative. Jay Porter will succeed him and officially assumes his new duties on July 1, 2016.

Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative holds 29th annual meeting June 2

Members and guests of Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative (ACEC) gathered at the McComb/Bruchs PAC in Wautoma on June 2, for the organization’s 29th Annual Meeting. This is the first time the annual meeting was held at the facility. 

Board Chairman Kendal Nichols gaveled the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. The playing of our National Anthem followed, along with the recital of the Pledge of Allegiance. Director Karen Fahey, Pine River, offered the invocation; Ken Miller, manager – safety gave a timely safety message for members and guests.

In his year-in-review report, Chief Executive Officer Marty Hillert commented on several programs, financial reports, and other highpoints from the past year. With his anticipated retirement on June 30, this was Mr. Hillert’s last annual meeting as CEO for ACEC. Chairman Nichols highlighted a career of 44 years of service to rural electric cooperatives, including nearly 20 years as Adams-Columbia’s CEO.
