Local businesses volunteer for Wautoma Reality Store

Wautoma High School welcomed community members and volunteers for the Reality Store to help students understand how to budget real-life situations on April 28.

The interactive program was created to help students understand the importance of money management skills, connect with community business leaders and work on budgeting skills.

The reality store, held twice a year, allows students enrolled in personal money management, housing and interior design, accounting and economics to select an occupation with a monthly gross income.

To prepare for the experience, students attending the Reality Store select an occupation and research their monthly income for this area of the country, while their family status is randomly selected for them.
