Deputy staff and emergency responders arrived at the crash site at 6:08 p.m., and immediately attended to the injured. After an investigation into the crash, initial indications are that a horse and buggy combination, operated by Devon Schlabach, 29, Dalton, was westbound on County Highway B when the horse was spooked.

The horse and buggy left the roadway entering the north ditch. The buggy overturned with five additional occupants inside, including: Laura Schlabach, 29; Joetta Schlabach, 13; Joel Schlabach, 6; Dora Schlabach, 4; and Larry Schlabach, 6 months. Medical treatment was sought and all injuries appear to be non-life threatening. The horse ran from the scene.
