Wild Rose Village Board approves Bauer Electric Bid at their September meeting on Sept. 2

The Wild Rose Village Board approved a bid from Bauer Electric during a September 2 call-in meeting.

Electrical upgrades were done at Roberts Park for the holding of future Wild Rose Days events at a cost of $2,000 with Bauer Electric donating $900 of the $2,900 bid. There may or may not be a separate cost for speaker wiring.

It was noted that the Waushara County finance director approved the financing of an All-in-one tabulator (election machine) for the village, with the first half to be paid in 2021 and the second half to be paid in January of 2022.

The Board approved a $150 donation towards the Classic Car Show (to be held Sept. 19,) for cruise night/street decoration prizes.

The Board reviewed and approved a letter to village residents regarding a referendum for the November election pertaining to the proposed split cost of garbage and recyclables pick up.

Tara Anderson was approved as an extra election official in case one of the other workers isn’t able to work during the November election.

The Fire District budget for 2021 was reviewed. With the costs of more training needed at higher costs, Village president Tim Ganzel questions how much surplus the department may have that’s not being used as part of it’s annual budget.

An Ordinance item dis-cussed was the room tax for those spending fewer than 30 days and those spending more than 30 days (as in living) at Blader’s Inn.

An update was given on the ammonia and Phosphorous levels at the sewer treatment ponds. Doug Jirik stated that “everything looks good” and the village should be in compliance by Oct. 1. The municipal Court report had the news that court will be reconvening once a month.

The library and Community Center report brought the news that circulation was down again, and that the library board may have to think about how to handle kids if there’s not going to be after school activities at the school this school year. (Children otherwise gather at the library and Community Center for activities after school hours,)

The Board considered recommended persons to serve on the planning commission.

The Board was notified of a proposed upgrade to the Wild Rose Baptist Church sign.

The Board approved an operator’s license which had previously been blocked. The Board also authorized the payment of bills.

 

The next regular Board meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7.
