Wild Rose Schools consider facility study

Subhead

The Wild Rose School Board received an updated report on how the school year is progressing during the Nov. 16 meeting.

It gets more interesting all the time. Despite all the protocols in place the entire football team needed to be quarantined instead of playing the last game of the regular season. The musical which was to take place last week was at least postponed, and protocols to be followed for the next upcoming events scheduled through December were discussed.

A lengthy discussion also took place regarding a facilities study and the possible hiring of a construction management architectural firm to facilitate the process.

In other business the Board approved the appointments of: two college students doing their student practicum at the elementary school; Jacob Lund and Josh Erickson as volunteer assistant coaches for the boys basketball program; and Chris Rosin as a volunteer assistant coach for the high quiz bowl team.

Approval was granted to enter a memorandum of understanding with the Waupaca County Dept. of Health and Human Services.

The Board considered an exception to a policy regarding the requirements for high school graduation for a transfer student who arrived last school year. After careful consideration the exemption was approved since the student will have enough credits in the particular field in question by the time of graduation.

A leave of absence request was granted for Lisa Wetzel.

The Board looked at questions to pose to potential candidates for the school board vacancy.

The class of 2021 class motto, class colors, and class flower were to be considered for approval.

The Board had entered closed session to consider administrative evaluations and contracts.

The next Board meeting may be at 7 p.m. on Monday, November 30. Otherwise, it will be after the 7:30 p.m. Scholarship Foundation meeting on Thursday, December 10.
