Mil rate of 7.61 approved by Wild Rose School District

A proposed budget for the 2020-21 school year was approved during an Aug. 10 annual meeting and budget hearing held in the Wild Rose High School Auditorium.

Everyone in attendance donned face masks as District Administrator Craig Hayes presented the proposed budget. The budget proposed to be $10,132,862, a $573,880.42, or a six percent increase. The proposed levy which was approved of during the meeting portion of the evening is at $6,033,253, a $222,614, or 1.93 percent increase. The mil rate would then be 7.61, a .06 or .79 percent increase.

Sandie Anderson was elected to preside over the meeting, with the reading of the minutes of the 2019 annual meeting being dispensed with.

The auditors’/treasurers’ and clerks’ reports were read and accepted.

The School Board salaries were voted to remain the same.

The district was authorized to provide student accident insurance for the 2020-21 school year.

 

The 2021 annual meeting was set for 7 p.m. on Aug. 9.
