At approximately 11:53 p.m. on Aug. 20, the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a one-vehicle crash on CTH. JJ of Dakota Avenue in the Town of Newton.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Honda Civic was traveling southbound on CTH. JJ at a high rate of speed and attempted to negotiate a curve. The vehicle crossed the centerline, went off the road, and entered the east side ditch. The vehicle struck several small trees and rolled. The vehicle came to a final rest after striking a large tree.
The driver, Sebastian Warren, 24. Portage and lone occupant of the vehicle were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Marquette county EMS, Town of Newton Fire Dept., Harris Fire Rescue, and the Marquette County Coroner’s Office.
The crash is still under investigation by the Marquette County Sherriff’s Office, Marquette County Coroner’s Office, and the Waushara County Medical Examiner.
