Pine River Library book sale and brat fry to support community park development

Subhead

Work continues on the transformation of the empty lot on the corner of County Highways H and E in Pine River.  The property was purchased by the Town of Leon is right next door to the Leon-Saxeville Library. Soon shrubs and trees acquired through a Wild Ones of the Fox Valley Grant will be delivered and planted. Then once the mulch arrives, the trail through the property will be completed and topsoil will be spread to complete the landscaping.

Following those tasks will be the incorporation of naturescape playground features. Many community volunteers and businesses have contributed their time and efforts to developing this new community space including the Pine River Rainbow 4-H Club and Thrivent.

The public is invited to view the progress at the Pine River Library Book Sale and a Brat Fry that will be held in the new community park space. The Book Sale is Friday, May 28 from 2 until 7 p.m. and Saturday, May 29 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The Library Board of Trustees will donate the proceeds from the book sale to the Pine River Community Enhancement Fund. A Brat Fry will also be held at the site on Saturday, May 29 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. with all proceeds to go toward expenses for the community park development.

The target date for the completion of the park is mid-June prior to the start the Summer Library Program on June 16 with the first event being the County UW Extension followed by Summit Players Theater on June 23 presenting “Shakespeare’s Outdoors with Will” relating and engaging young participants in how Shakespeare incorporated nature in his works.
