To the editor,
During these unprece-dented times, we have all giving thanks to those heroes amongst us, primarily in the medical field, and rightly so. I’m giving a shout out to the Wild Rose Fire department. On Friday, April 30, I received a concerning call from a dear friend stating her neighbor on Badger Ave. about midway between 18th and G, was burning brush on this not well chosen day, and came to her for assistance when the wind took control.
My friend immediately determined it was out of control and to call the fire department. I, living a short distance came over, the fire department was already there to my amazement. They work as a professional team to control the situation before it took over the woods surrounding my friend’s home.
What really impressed me was that Wild Rose is a volunteer fire department, yet a large group of fire fighters were on scene, with full equipment, their training showed as they worked together. To these folks, our neighbors, our friends. I, and all of us say Thank You For Your Service.
