Local thanks volunteer fire departments

Subhead

Dear Editor,

On Feb. 5, my beautiful home of 44 years started on fire. Unfortunately, nothing of the structure was able to be saved.

I was on a month-long vacation at the time, and as you can imagine, the news was devastating.

I would like to thank the Wild Rose Fire Department for their tireless efforts, despite the very cold temperatures that day!

They, along with six other volunteer fire departments from the area, worked long into the evening to take turns trying to stop the fire.

They did what they could to help, even snatching some cherished framed photos when they went inside to check if anyone was home.

We don’t know why things happen in our lives, but God does! He has a reason for it happening and I trust Him, as I know his way is best! Proverbs 3:5-6 in the Bible says, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. I will continue to trust God, even through this!

My plans, despite my age and the high price of lumber at this time, is to rebuild. Thank-you to all of you who are supporting me through this journey.

Sincerely,

Pat Chelmo
