Wild Rose School Board approves new staff members at Aug. 7 meeting

The Wild Rose School Board approved a few personnel appointments during an Aug. 7 meeting. Steve Brickson was approved as the middle/high school at risk/alternative education teacher. Carrie Beth Rose was approved as a middle school special education teacher. Eden Kapral and Kylee Lund were approved as volunteer high school volleyball coaches. With those appointments in mind, staffing assignments and the master schedule were considered and approved. The staff development (in-service) plan for the 2023-24 school year was approved. The board approved the legal review of all policies, then went on to approve revisions made to numerous policies. They include: Section1 : School Board Foundations, governances, and Operations 1.14-Non-discrimination employment-Title IX 1.27-Non-discrimination on the basis of handicap/disability 1.28-Non-discrimination on the basis of race, color, and national origin 1.38-Bloodborne pathogen exposure Section 3: Student Personnel 3.05-Dress code 3.10-Title IX - student grievance, non-discrimination, anti-harassment, and anti-bullying policy 3.18-Administering medication 3.19-Emergency illness and injury 3.36-Equal educational opportunities - pupil non-discrimination 3.37-Student non-discrimination complaint and grievance procedure 3.47-Electronic paging communications device policy 3.65-Concussion management policy Student handbooks were considered and approved A leave of absence request from Renee Christie was approved by the board. During the district administrator’s report it was mentioned that Kelly Cryan was hired as food service director-lead cook and Kaitlyn Brooks as a 4K classroom assistant. Mention was also made of the Aug. 21 Waushara County FACTsupper at the Tri-County School. Upcoming board meetings include Thursdays, Aug. 24, Sept. 14, and Sept. 28 at 7 p.m.
