Wild Rose Historical Museum’s season coming to an end

Subhead
As our 2023 Wild Rose Historical Museum season comes to an end, we are still excited for the new exhibits we had this summer. The Wild Rose Skating Club, which began in the late 1940’s and expanded in the 1950’s, is always a favorite. There are pictures, costumes and a lot of memorabilia to see and read. Our antique musical instruments were a highlight at the Wild Rose Days Concert and the Community Band played a few of them for one of the musical pieces and had all the rest on display for all to see along with some old uniforms worn by the “old” band. Do you remember Watercross? The Village of Wild Rose did support that activity on the Mill Pond and we have a few posters of that event. As we are cleaning out the various buildings, we have found many new (old) items that help save the history of Wild Rose as it celebrates their 150 years as a Village. However there is always more to do. 2024 will once again be a busy year as we hope to put together a history of the Wild Rose Hospital. Or learn how our great grandma preserve food for the winter. Better yet, remember the year the railroad came to Wild Rose? We are a voluntary organization and rely on people to assist with the displays, cleaning up the grounds, making repairs where needed and of course guiding the many visitors through our seven buildings. If you have a few hours to help save the history of Wild Rose and maintain what we already have, please consider helping us remain for the next generation to come. We need more help and ideas to save this great museum. Remember, you can also become a member of our Historical Society, dues are reasonable.
