The Wautoma Area School District held their last regular monthly meeting of the summer on Aug. 14 at Wautoma High School.
During Administrative Reports, Parkside School Principal Doug Beattie reported they have been able to fill some of their substitute positions ahead of the new school year, and, although some roles have been difficult to fill, they have figured out how to fulfill their needs with existing staff. Riverview Elementary Principal Alex Kitchner reported they were able to get creative for the new physical education intern for this school year, and Chief Financial Officer Carmen O’Brien informed the Board the audit was currently underway and should be completed within the next couple of weeks.
The board went on to approve the 2023-2024 Dotcomtherapy Virtual Speech Contract to provide virtual language assistance services for students in Grades 6-12; CG Schmidt/PRA Added Services Contract; Revisions to Policies 5421 and 5430; Revisions to SY2023-2024 Student Handbooks; Academic and Career Planning Coach Position and Job Description; Britany Marshall-Zoellner as Wautoma High School Academic Career Planning Coach; Dispatcher Position and Job Description; Diane Sommer as WASD Transportation Dispatcher; and the revised Substitute Bus Driver Contract.
The Board also approved the resignations of: Tamara Wheaton, Wautoma High School Special Education Teacher/Technology Education Teacher; Cynthia Dahlke, Riverview Elementary Program Support Assistant; Karen Richardt, Parkside School Program Support Assistant; Linda Kilbey-Roberts, Riverview Elementary Cook III; and John Epping, Bus Driver; the employment of: Jared Esala, Wautoma High School Assistant Principal/Assessment Coordinator; Brittanie Mastricola, Redgranite Elementary Physical Education Teacher; Velonie Tubbs, Bus Driver; Elizabeth Hell, Track and Field, High School Assistant Coach; Amber Babcock, Cross Country, Middle School Head Coach; Nina Monacelli, Volleyball, Wautoma High School JVR Coach; David Sanders, Track and Field, Middle School Assistant Coach; Andrew DeKeyser, Track and Field, High School Head Coach; Wautoma High School Volunteer Coaches: Jalyn Piechowski, Volleyball, Chase Mastricola, Football, and Melanie DeMars, Fall Cheerleading; and A+ After School Staff.
