Walk-the-Waush guided hike to be held Aug. 4
Join fellow hikers on Aug. 4 for a two-mile group hike on the Ice Age Trail along the Mecan River Segment. This hike will take you to the top of a hill to watch the sun rise over the Mecan River watershed. This is the third and final of three extra guided hikes the Waushara Chapter included in its 2018 Summer Agenda in honor of the Walk-the-Waush Challenge. Those interested will meet at the Mecan Springs parking area at the intersection of 6th Lane and Chicago Rd at 5:15 am. Attendees will carpool north to the parking area on Buttercup Dr. to begin the hike back to Mecan Springs. Everyone will then retrieve their vehicles left on Buttercup Dr. Sunrise is at 5:48 am, so plan on completing the hike about 7 am. This hike is moderate difficulty and may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Remember, all “Walk-the-Waush” Log Sheets must be returned by Aug. 23. Then, join Walk-the-Waush on Saturday, Aug. 25 at Willow Creek Park for the Post-Challenge “Let’s Light Up the Night” Hike. At that time, all awards and prizes will be presented. Check out the Walk-the-Waush Facebook pages for further event updates and don’t forget to post your Challenge photos. https://www.facebook.com/events/156545455011441/https://www.facebook.com...
