Society of Broken Souls comes to Neshkoro, Oct. 12

The Black Hawk Folk Society proudly presents Society of Broken Souls in concert Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Neshkoro Community Center, located at 114 E Park Street in downtown Neshkoro. The concert begins at 7 p.m.

Society of Broken Souls is the self-proclaimed Folk Noir duo of songwriters and instrumentalists Dennis James and Lauryn Shapter. Expect stripped down, bare-bones acoustic arrangements interspersed with denser and edgier sounds. Their song-writing goals are to “confront our shared, raw humanity all while celebrating the beautiful mosaic of the human experience.” Visit https://www.societyofbrokensouls.com to sample their music and to learn more.

The evening begins with a potluck supper at 6 p.m., which is open to all. General admission tickets will be available that evening at the door. This is a handicap friendly site, adjacent to plenty of free parking.

The Black Hawk Folk Society is a non-profit volunteer-driven group bringing quality music to central Wisconsin. Black Hawk Folk Society thanks these sponsors who make their concerts, other events, and educational outreach programs possible: Louise Coumbe, Janet Scalpone, Patricia Grant, The Dick Hansen Family, Betty & Paul Hagan, Conners/Barrett & Company LLC, Mt Morris Mill Coffee Shop, and the Frey Family Foundation.
