Six-week educational program to offer tools for caregivers
An educational program for caregivers will be held Sept. 12 through Oct. 17 in Wautoma. The Powerful Tools for Caregivers program is a weekly class designed to help family caregivers learn skills to better care for themselves while caring for a relative or friend. The course will meet Wednesdays from 10-11:30 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church, 335 W. Prairie St. in Wautoma.
Caring for someone with a chronic illness can be exhausting both emotionally and financially. This program will help participants find resources and support in the Wautoma area, reduce stress, improve confidence as a caregiver, enhance communication skills, and improve their ability to make tough decisions.
Powerful Tools for Caregivers is presented through a partnership be-tween the Wisconsin Institute for Healthy Aging and Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin (ADAW). This program is free, but registration is required. Respite care is also available, but must be scheduled in advance. Please confirm respite care at time of registration.
