Plan now to attend Augustfest downtown Wautoma this Saturday

All plans are set for Augustfest 2023 downtown Wautoma this Saturday, Aug. 12th. The family fun event will kick-off at 9 a.m. and continue till 4 p.m. This year approximately 30 vendors will be set up in the early morning hours to be ready by 9 a.m. Vendors will notice parking may be a challenge this year as South Waupaca Street is under construction. We will try to guide you to parking lots in the city if you are not familiar with the area. There will be a shuttle service from the high school parking lot on Cambridge St. (Hwy 22) by Evergreen’s Chippy Express from Wild Rose beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing throughout the day till 3 p.m. Chippy’s driver will be taking attendees to the WWII Memorial and also to the courthouse if they wish to participate in the Kids Rummage Sale conducted by the Waushara County Parks Department Music will be provided throughout the day by Kaydee Music featuring some great musicians. Events for the kids include free pony rides, face painting, and Dizzy D the Balloon Twister. There will be events for the kids throughout the Library Park. Also this year there will be 20 bicycles given away. Register with Wautoma Kiwanis near the library and get your ticket to win a bike with the drawing held at 2:30 p.m. Bikes were donated by Kiwanis, Rotary, Bowden Severns, and Jon & Connie Hansen. Helmets will be provided for each person winning a bike in cooperation with the Waushara County Health Dept. and John Schultz. In the park there will be food trucks including the Flyte Family Farm Moo Truck, Duck Race Tickets, Book and Bakery Sale at the Library, as well as the 30 vendors. Inside the WWII Memorial Building there will be Augustfest Donuts by Sunrise Bakery, Silent Auction, Quilt Show, American Legion Auxiliary BBQ’s and baked goods, Rural Rembrandt Art Sale, Silent Bids for a Quilt with funds going directly to the Pallet Fire victims, and Quilts of Valor presentation at 12:30 p.m. The day’s events conclude with the Duck Race at 3 p.m. sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Ducks are dumped in the White River off Main Street and the ducks final destination downstream is the park where you can see the Knights of Columbus collecting the winning ducks.
