Plainfield family donates tree to State Capitol

Mary and Don Miller, Plainfield, donated this beautiful 40 year old Balsam Fir to be in the rotunda the State Capitol building in Madison. This tree that is over 40 ft. tall has adorned their home and been a showcase on Hwy. 73 for those passing by.  They decided to donate the tree after a request from the state to Laura’s Lane Nursery for a tree that met their height requirements could not be met, but their daughter, Mary, had the perfect tree in her yard.  “It is an honor to have our tree in the Capitol for so many to enjoy this Christmas,” said Mary.   The photo includes: Mary and Don Miller, daughters Ayla and Luella and their son, Isaac.  Their youngest son, Deklen, 18 months old, is not pictured.
