Mural project underway for the Wautoma Public Library

Subhead
The Wautoma Public Library wall facing Wautoma’s Main Street is in definite need of an upgrade. A mural is planned for the wall and will be done on 50 4’x8’ PolyMedal panels, as the wall is not condusive to just painting on it as the paint would crack and peel. The library board has hired Kelly Meredith of Butternut to paint a new mural. She will be painting this in her studio and once completed the panels will be mounted onto the Library Main Street wall. After the mural is installed, the plan is to extend the stonework used from the library entrance along the south wall below the mural. The design for the mural features books and local wildlife and represents growing in knowledge and appreciation for the natural world around us. The artist’s bid and the installation of the panels will be approximately $22,300. The stonework estimate is about $18,000. The project is partially funded by the City of Wautoma, the Wautoma Public Library, and donors. The library as also applied for a Community Foundation Grant. If you would like to contribute to the project you can do so in many ways – •Make a donation directly to the project. •Profits from Library Merchandise purchased goes to the mural project. •Passionate about a specific novel? A $1,000 donation allows you to pick a book title to feature on the mural plus you will be gifted one of the small commemorative bricks. Your donations for the wall cam be sent to Wautoma Public Library, Attn: Library Main St. Wall Project, P.O. Box 269. Wautoma, WI 54982.
