Local restaurant Miller’s Hillside Pub will be hosting a visit from America’s Best Restaurants (ABR) in mid-September 2023.
America’s Best Restaurants, a national media and marketing company focusing on bringing attention to local, independently-owned restaurants, will bring its ABR Roadshow to the restaurant on Sept. 12th. Popular dishes will be highlighted, along with an extensive on-camera interview with owners Dan and Nancy Miller about the restaurant’s special place in the community. The episode will be aired extensively on social media channels at a later date.
Dan, a retired first assistant fire chief and paramedic, and Nancy, also a current dispatcher and former paramedic, took over the restaurant in August 2022. Formerly Lavore’s On The Hill, the restaurant fills a niche in the area by being an affordable family-friendly eatery in the small community.
“Everything is freshly made,” notes Nancy. “It’s a nice quiet setting; we’re a nice restaurant that has a nice bar attached.”
They continue to support military and first responders. They offer nightly events, drink specials, apparel, and local ingredients whenever possible.
“The big thing is the food coming out of the kitchen is all homemade,” says Nancy. “We have three custom sauces - honey barbecue, garlic sauce, and a pub sauce which is a horseradish blend I created myself.”
As for food items that may be featured on the episode, pizza and burgers are the most popular, although the Millers note the Friday night fish fry has people “lined up out the door.”
America’s Best Restaurants will be filming on location on Tuesday Sept. 12th from 9 a.m. to noon. The restaurant’s finished episode premiere date will be announced on their Facebook page and will be featured on America’s Best Restaurants’ website.
