“Longest Night” 2022 Ecumenical Gathering scheduled Dec. 21

Subhead

The “Longest Night” 2022 Ecumenical Gathering will be taking place on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 1:30 p.m. at the Wild Rose Community Center, 500 Division St., Wild Rose. Reverand Alyson Janke and Pastor Jill Nowlen will be the presiding clergy.

For many people, Christmas is anything but merry. The holiday season can be difficult for those who are grieving, who struggle with addictions, who have difficult family relationships, physical or mental illnesses, depression or stress.

The Longest Night service offers an opportunity to gather as a community to acknowledge and share our conflicting emotions that come from the trials and struggles of this world and to feel surrounded by the compassionate love of God.

This unique service will feature readings from Scripture, the lighting of candles, soothing music, and the singing of familiar hymns. There will also be an opportunity for individuals to light a candle as a visible sign of their prayers of remembrance and hope. Invite a friend who may need this service to join us.

Refreshments will follow the service.  Contact either Rev. Janke at (920) 622-3515 or Pastor Nowlen at (920) 622-3800 for any questions.
