It’s Fair Time in Waushara County

The Waushara County Fair will be held in Wautoma this Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 17-20. The Waushara County Fair Board including: Guy Dutcher, President; Peter Jarvis, Vice President; Co-Secretaries, Tina Farago, Terry Farago and Hattie Rettler; Treasurer, Roger Wagner; Directors: George Piechowski, Larry Albright, Tim Brewer, Heidi Hensel-Buntrock, Joey Wagner, Jeff Luttropp and Mike Myers work throughout the year to bring you the best county fair. It is through sponsors of the main events the Waushara County Fair can continue to provide grandstand entertainment at no extra charge to fair goers. Once you pay admission at the gate, there is no extra charge for the grandstand. Auto parking is also free. Christman Amusements are based in Wautoma and offer great carnival rides, games, and food. Wristbands are offered on Thursday from 5:30 – 10 p.m.; Friday – Noon to 4:30; Saturday from Noon to 4:30 and again from 5:30 to 10 p.m.; and on Sunday from Noon to 4:30. Kids and adults can purchase a wristband and enjoy as many rides as they wish during those time slots. The fair begins on Thursday with judging throughout the day in Family Living, Youth Expo, and Flower & Vegetable Buildings. Swine judging will be at 8 a.m., junior photography at 9, open photography follows junior, poultry judging is at noon, and sheep judging at 5 p.m. Old Time Sounds will be in the Midway Music Hall from 5-7 p.m. This year’s Truck Pull will be held at 7 p.m. sponsored by Wheelers Chevrolet. The Horse Show kicks off the Friday schedule at 8 a.m. with Goat and Dairy judging also at 8. Rabbit Judging will be at 11 a.m. and the Beef Show will be at 5 p.m. The 308 Band will provide entertainment from 6-9 p.m. in the Midway Music Hall. The Tractor Pull will be held at 7 p.m. sponsored by MPB Builders of Ripon. Saturday’s entertainment and judging has an array of activities beginning with the Junior Horse Speed Show at 8. Tracy Voss will be performing in the Midway Music Hall from 3-6 p.m. The 4-H Junior Livestock Auction including beef, swine, sheep, poultry, and rabbits will be held at 1 p.m. Dizzy the Balloon Twister will be making some fun creations for kids from 4-7 p.m. The evening entertainment includes N.E.W. Motorsports Truck & Tractor Pulling at 6 p.m. sponsored by Waushara Argus and the Bug WAUH 102.3. The final day of the 2023 Waushara County Fair will be packed with entertainment on Sunday with Pedal Pulls at Noon. Those wishing to participate should register at 11 a.m. in the Beef Barn. The Wild Rose Community Band will perform in the Midway Music Hall from 2-3 p.m. Dizzy the Balloon Twister will be on the midway from 2-6 p.m. and Desperate Otto’s will be playing in front of the grandstand from 3-5 p.m. sponsored by Bug Tussel Wireless. The Demolition Derby concludes the grandstand entertainment starting at 5 p.m. and it is sponsored by Wenninger Auto Repair & Towing, Smiley’s Feed & Bait, Moose Inn, W. Yoder Auction Service, O’Reilly Auto Parts, and the Waushara County Tavern League. Put all this together with some great food at the 4-H Stand, the new Farm Bureau Building, beverages at the Kiwanis Beer Tent, and so much more great fair food,.
