Area farmers support Waushara County Food Pantry

Nate Knight, Waushara County Food Pantry Director reports that over 300 pounds of produce have been donated to the pantry by area farmers. Fresh locally grown vegetables supplement the variety of fresh, frozen and non-perishable food items distributed by the pantry to meet local food needs. As the pantry’s new director, Nate Knight has hit the ground running updating many aspects of the pantry. With his background as a contract worker for FEMA, Knight brings innovative ideas that has helped the pantry enhance services and operate more efficiently. Along with the pantry’s dedicated team of volunteers, he is committed to providing services to residents of Waushara County. The pantry is open for distribution every Tuesday and Friday from 11am – 4pm, serving a monthly average of 570 households (1,600 individuals). Mobile food pantries are also offered in three different locations as scheduled. An average of 750 households receive food through these additional outreach pantries.
